Today, the verdict is in:
- 74% say their CI experience was awesome or good.
- 25% say awful or nothing special.
So, what does that mean? Was this year's CI was much better than years past? Do people's fond memories of CI retroactively get dimmer? Are the upper-classmen who read this blog just cranky old curmudgeons? :) What do you think?

Landslide!
Cannot help but think that those voting it was awful did not make an effort to meet others and get the most out of the 2.5 days. I met a lot of great kids including the CI leaders. Looking forward to attending GWU!!
Wow, I'm really suprised that large of a percentage said their CI experience was awful. I never sensed any of that sentiment at CI2 or from what I've heard from others. Any one care to share a really bad CI??
The activities were gay/boring and made it harder to meet people.
The activities were kind of awkward, but it was enjoyable. You can't possibly get EVERYONE to think that the high-energy CI experience was great, different people have different tastes. Some people would've had, I assume, just as good an experience if CI were more low-key.
Personally, I enjoyed myself.
Although I hope CI is simply a taste of things to come as opposed to the best time I'll have these next 4 years.
I remember really enjoying CI, I met a couple good friends there that I still have now!
Only thing is, half of my conversations since then have started with "uhh, i think we're facebook friends..."
There was way too much hyperactivity during CI. By the time I went home, I felt like I was coming down off a 3 week coke binge.
I had a somewhat enjoyable time at CI however my roommate never came and stayed with me just a small sticky note that said she would be staying in a hotel... At first i was like well at least i dont have a weird CI roommate but then it ended up sucking because if your ever in an empty crawford room by yourself it's kinda eerie and lonely...I met lots of people and my non existent roommate didnt stop me from having fun. My dad was at the first day of CI and just couldnt take it anymore i asked why he left and he said I kinda felt like i was in the college version on high school musical with all the singing and hyperactiveness. I was a little to hoakie for him. Anyway CI was helpful and fun but i voted CI low b/c f the roommate situation...
I don't know how I managed to delete my last comment by accident, but here it is again..
"I loved my CI experience. Despite the hyperactivity, and yes, the feeling of coming off of a "three-week coke binge", I think it was the best way to kick off what will be an awesome four years. The activities were fun (no matter how awkward), and I met a ton of new people. Furthermore, not only was the CI cabinet absolutely hilarious, they were extremely helpful. I really finished off CI feeling ready for school in the fall.
Btw- that sucks that your roommate never showed up... my roommate for CI was great!"
Before going to CI I was really nervous that I chose the wrong college to attend. After CI, I wanted to go back down to DC and move in immediately. It's great that they let us leave the campus and explore DC. Most other colleges don't allow you to leave during orientation. I had a fun time and I met a lot of cool people.
Curmudgeon is a word you wish got used more...
