Snowmageddon

A snowy-haired George Washington

Following up on ShopGirl's post last week, D.C. has been hit with another snow storm. With accumulations up to 30" in Baltimore, theWashington Post's Capital Weather Gang is calling our latest snow storm, Snowmageddon, and puts it at #5 on the all-time list.

I'm sure everyone has their fair-share of stories depicting DC's inability to deal with snow (especially for those of us from the North, where 15" + of snow is a regularity), and I'll be no exception. Last night my friends and I spent about 30 minutes trying to assist a woman whose car was stuck in the snow on 20th & H streets. My friends and I also got into an accidental snowball fight with a snowplow truck driver (vaguely reminiscent of the Snow Day plot line.)

Students outside of Townhouse Row

Saturday marked an unofficial "Snow Day," with the block of 23rd between F and H streets, littered with students frolicking in the snow. There was also an organized snowball fight in DuPont Circle, whose Facebook group had 5,000 members, and is estimated to have turned out hundreds of participants.
