No credit where credit was due

I appreciate the SA Presidential candidates so heavily engaging in our GWBlogSpot online debate (see: lefthand sidebar) and showing their support for student media other than The Hatchet.

However, not as much can be said for our school's "independent newspaper."

I was disappointed to see that Hatchet Reporter Emily Cahn's story regarding campaign complaints against Kyle Boyer did not reference The GW Patriot, the student-run media outlet which broke the story in the first place.

Our own Andrew Perez gave extensive credit to The GW Patriot in his post on the subject.

Props to The GW Patriot for breaking a great story. Thumbs up to Andrew for giving them credit for doing so. Shame on The Hatchet for their willful ignorance of other campus media.

Thanks for the credit, guys, but I'm OK with not having my name all over the Hatchet (at least in this case).

So you were dissing on the GW Hatchet for removing comments from their articles (by reviewing them before they got posted)....so what's up with the Comment Deleted by a "blog administrator?" Hypocrites ...

In the interest of transparency, a comment reflecting an off-the-record conversation with the GW Hatchet was removed. The comment was posted by a blogger at GWBlogspot -- not anyone critical of GWBlogspot -- and removed by GWBlogspot.

Hypocrite claim: debunked.

Idiot claim still stands though. This blog is a disgrace.

That's not me ...haha. Thank you for the response/clarification Adam Green.

Agreed with anonymous above, this blog really doesn't get it. Must be nice to get a grade for this work when so many students like those working at Hatchet and Patriot do it out of a sincere desire for accountability and transparency. Would be nice if you did more than cite a Hatchet or Washington Post article, ramble out some unoriginal ideas and call it journalism. Almost forgot to mention throw up a Facebook group and call it advocacy, but wouldn't want to diminish the work you guys do.

Hey Stephen, maybe if you spent more time trying to do some actual journalism instead of taking all of you time, ie this latest post and your idiotic leading question at the debate, bitching about how little attention your blog gets. By the way, you work for AT BEST the SIXTH LARGEST NEWS SOURCE (Hatchet, GW Patriot, Daily Colonial, WRGW, GW TV) at our school. Barely anybody reads the Hatchet as is, nobody gives a FUCK about your blog in the first place. Props to Emily for reporting the story, even if it is ludicrous and just shows how stupid the SA is. If everybody, from Stephen to lonely Wylie Ballanger, took themselves a little less fucking seriously, our school would waste much less of its time on idiotic controversies such as these.

What's with the scare quotes? Are you trying to start a fight?
