there was also another idea to make an Obama ad based off the old Coinstar Ads, saying that people in Texas were looking for change... but it would have been too difficult and expensive to make (the group just put together storyboards)
Yes good point... It was a very creative ad and seemed to draw the best reaction from the class. Too bad SMPA couldn't pick up the tab to produce it...
Did anyone try to do a pro-McCain ad? I took this class last year, and I want to say there were two McCain ads. It's interesting that the only one of these ads that mentions him is an attack ad.
I really like the Obama ad and the Edwards ad. But nothing will ever beat Mike Gravel in terms of sheer wackiness.
There was a pro-McCain ad, I'm not sure why its not up
Left-wing conspiracy?? haha
There was a pro McCain ad... I don't think the group posted it on YouTube but I'm checking
Cool. Also, it's awesome that these are on YouTube. Last year we just had them on our computers, and the professor said in years past, most of them have been storyboards and only the groups with extremely tech-savvy people were able to make ads.
Hey, thanks for finding the McCain ad! Unfortunately, because I'm a Sorkin nerd, I couldn't dissociate the American President theme -- I kept waiting for a shot of McCain and a bunch of staffers talking a mile a minute. But it was definitely interesting -- I don't think I've seen a border-security ad that's so upbeat. (That was an awesome stock shot of a picnic -- easily my favorite of any ad I've seen.)
